Inside IX Solutions’ transition from founder-led to enterprise-ready.

How a years-long brand + fractional marketing partnership prepped this IT firm for the big leagues.

By the time IX Solutions began thinking seriously about its brand, the business was already well into a growthspurt.

What started as a founder-led IT consultancy had evolved into a fast-scaling firm supporting mid-sized and enterprise organizations across Canada. The team was expanding, the client roster was maturing, and the work itself—spanning infrastructure, cybersecurity, network, modern workplace, and managed services—had reached a level of sophistication that demanded trust and confidence at every touchpoint. The brand simply needed to catch up.

THE CHALLENGE —

Potential outpacing perception.

IX Solutions' challenge wasn’t a lack of capability or credibility. Behind the scenes, the team was sharp, collaborative, and deeply trusted by increasingly complex organizations with highly professional IT teams.

As the company scaled, however, a subtle misalignment emerged. The brand reflected an earlier chapter of the business, while the reality of the work, the customers they were serving, and the talent they were attracting pointed clearly toward where IX was headed next. For a firm looking to grow into larger accounts and attract top-tier talent, that gap mattered.

If left unaddressed, it would have made it harder for Sales to walk into enterprise conversations with confidence, more difficult to signal maturity to prospective hires, and increasingly challenging to present a cohesive, future-focused story in the market. While IX wasn’t looking to fully reinvent itself, they craved better alignment between their outward story and the level of expertise they had already built.

THE APPROACH —

Brand foundations first, with some sprinkles on top.

When Outspoke began working with IX Solutions in 2020, the work was framed as a long-term fractional marketing partnership. Two years down the road, we decided the brand needed a rebuild to align with founders Shawn Jackson and Chris King’s vision for the future.

We started with a brand strategy workshop to clarify IX’s positioning, messaging, and voice—bringing alignment to how the firm talked about its work, its value, and its direction. From there, we took a dual-track approach that allowed IX to continue growing while the foundation was being rebuilt.

That work included:

  • Developing a clear brand messaging and positioning framework

  • Creating a magnetic new visual identity

  • Writing, designing, and launching a new website

  • Building out new marketing and sales collateral

While IX continued to show up in the market through content, social, and sales activity, we quietly rebuilt the systems underneath—ensuring that when the brand launched, it would support growth rather than slow it down.

THE SHIFT —

Clarity, confidence, and consistency for the long run.

When the new brand went live, the impact was felt more in confidence than in spectacle. Sales conversations became easier and more consistent. The language matched the level of expertise IX brought into the room. Internally, the team had a shared story they could stand behind. Externally, the brand finally reflected the calibre of work clients already knew and trusted.

Since launching the new brand, Outspoke has continued to support IX Solutions with a content marketing program and fractional marketing strategy support. Together, we’ve focused on maintaining clarity as the business evolves and ensuring the brand continues to support long-term growth.

“Outspoke has been an integral part of helping us establish a clear and credible presence in the market. From refining our brand to supporting ongoing marketing initiatives, their work has brought consistency, focus, and results. It’s been a valuable partnership.”
